1. Application of these terms

By downloading, installing, accessing or using SpeakJapaneseNative, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not continue to use the service.

2. The service

SpeakJapaneseNative provides complete conversations based on real-life situations in Japan, sentence-by-sentence learning, model audio, pronunciation practice, Japanese grammar guidance and free practice. Some features work offline. Content updates, AI features, purchase verification and notifications require a network connection.

No account is required. Learning history and practice recordings are stored mainly on your device.

3. App licence

Your licence to use the app obtained through the App Store is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms additionally govern the content, AI features and online services provided by SpeakJapaneseNative.

4. Scene purchases and AI subscriptions

Free content

Each learning category includes two free scenes. Which scenes are free may change with the content catalogue, without affecting completed purchases.

All-scene purchase

All-scene access is a non-consumable in-app purchase and does not include AI allowances. It is associated with the Apple Account used for the purchase and can be restored through Apple. It covers current and future learning scenes while the app and content service remain available and technically supported.

AI practice plan

The AI practice plan is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. Both plans refresh allowances monthly on the subscription cycle; the yearly plan does not issue a full year of allowances at once. Current allowances, price, currency and duration are shown on the purchase screen and by the App Store. A pronunciation recording over 15 seconds, up to the app’s permitted duration, uses two pronunciation units.

Billing, cancellation and refunds

Apple processes payment, renewal, cancellation, price changes, purchase restoration and refunds under the rules of your App Store region. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

5. AI results and learning content

AI speech, pronunciation assessment and grammar guidance are learning aids. Results may contain errors, omissions or wording that is unsuitable for a particular situation. You remain responsible for deciding how to use them.

6. Content you submit

You retain your rights in text, recordings and feedback that you submit. You permit us to process that content only as needed to provide the feature you requested, keep the service secure, respond to feedback and meet necessary obligations. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Do not submit content that you are not entitled to use, unnecessary sensitive personal information, unlawful material or content that infringes another person’s rights.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Circumvent purchases, allowances, device verification or other access controls.
• Scrape, resell, copy or republish learning scenes, audio or analysis results in bulk.
• Attack, disrupt or misuse service interfaces, or generate abnormal automated traffic.
• Use the service to create, process or distribute unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, harassing or harmful material.

We may reasonably restrict online features in response to serious or repeated abuse, without limiting rights that you have under applicable purchase and consumer laws.

8. Third-party services

The app uses Apple, RevenueCat, Microsoft Azure, DeepSeek and Appwrite for purchases, speech, AI analysis, content delivery and backend functions. Their own terms and policies may apply, and their availability may affect related features.

9. Changes and availability

We may update learning content, the interface, AI models, technology providers and feature arrangements to improve quality or meet security and legal requirements. We do not guarantee uninterrupted online service, but we will take reasonable steps to maintain core features and explain material changes.

10. Liability and consumer rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available and without additional warranties. We are not responsible beyond what the law requires for indirect loss caused by networks, devices, third-party services or misuse. These terms do not limit mandatory consumer rights in your country or region.

11. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms when the service, pricing structure or legal requirements change materially. We will update the effective date and may also provide an in-app notice where a change materially affects users.
